A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Bauchi, Babba Abba Misau has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Baba Abba who made this known in a press statement on Friday, said that decision made was not in any way out of anger or ambition, but inspired by love for the country and to stop it from further decline.
“Today being July 3rd, 2025, I wish to announce to the good people of my Ward Kukadi-Gundari Ward, the good people of Misau Local Government, the good people of Bauchi State and Nigeria in General, that I have resigned from the All Progressives Congress – APC and have joined the African Democratic Congress – ADC”, he said.
A diehard Buhari supporter, Abba explained further that the decision to dump the APC wasn’t personal, but due to the loss of trust on the stewardship of the APC government as it concerns the welfare and well-being of Nigerians in general and the ordinary Nigerian citizen in particular.
“The APC government has betrayed the trust and its promises made to Nigerians, with its renewed hope transforming to a hopeless agenda”, he stated.
According to him, “due to the hardship in the land imposed by the APC’s unpopular policies, the ordinary Nigerians cannot only afford basic needs for life sustenance, but can also hardly feed themselves and their families more than ever before”.
He regretted that amidst the excruciating hardship in the country, the government turned its back.
He also lamented that rather than addressing the issues of its citizen’s welfare, the APC led federal government is busy and baselessly campaigning right from 2 years before the elections.
“To tell the truth, situation is so dare that marketing the APC to Nigerians against any future election has not only become a herculean but an impossible task”, he said.
Baba Abba Misau who disclosed that the reasons for leaving the APC are so numerous to mention, announced that his new political party is the ADC.
