The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has enlightened party members who defected to other political parties that there are no greener pastures anywhere other than the PDP.
He stated this when he received members of founding mothers of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by Hajiya Maryam Inna Chiroma on a courtesy visit in his government house office Bauchi yesterday.
According to him, there are no greener pastures anywhere, except the All Progressives Congress (APC) that has the federal government, which he observed is not even working.
Bala Mohammed also criticized the federal government of Nigeria over zero implementation of the 2025 national budget.
The governor informed the Hajiya Maryam Inna Chiroma’s led PDP founding mothers that the federal government is not working and that most people are complaining.
“Today we have about three budgets on the ground in the national assembly, the 2024 budget, only 30 percent has been implemented, and 2025 budget is zero percent of implementation and we are talking on going to 2026, this is the kind of government we have”, the governor revealed.
He added, “some us know so much but we keep quiet not because we have compromised but because we don’t want to disparage the nation, but we are really in for it”.
Governor Mohammed said it is time for the PDP members to come together and take over the federal government in 2027.
According to Bala Mohammed, Hajiya Inna’s husband was in the forefront of creating the the PDP when there was no issue of personal interest.
“At that time there is no personal interest, they created the platform and they allow somebody from somewhere to come and take the presidency and he did very well”, the governor said.
He added: “We have to rekindle our nationalism, our patriotism, our nigerianness, in order to bring good governance”.
The governor lamented that impunity and tribalism, among others have been the obstacle in Nigeria’s growth and development.
“Some of us are patriots, we benefitted from people other than those that come from our geographical area, that is why we have transcended above tribe and religion, and even here we include minorities, not only women and vulnerable children but minority interests in our system”, the governor said.
He therefore, urged the the PDP founding mothers’ Leader to remain dogged in working to bring the party members together, including those that are living to other political party on temporarily.
Earlier speaking, Hajiya Maryam Inna Chiroma, pleaded with Governor Bala Mohammed to use his position as the chairman, PDP governor’s forum and lobby for the involvement of women in the party structure to be able to take back presidency come 2027.
