The Speaker of the council of Councilors in the local government, Yakubu Anas Mohammed made this known while addressing a press conference at the Correspondents’ Chapel Secretariate Bauchi on Thursday.

“With due respect and honour, we, the undersigned Councilars of Ningi Local Government wish to disassociate ourselves from the purported letter of suspension of the Chairman, Ningi Local Government going round in social media”, he said.

Yakubu Anas said, “we wish to categorically state that we never sat, deliberated and resolved to suspend the Executive Chairman. Therefore the said letter never emanated from us and we strongly condemned it and whoever writes or supports it”.

The Councilors while expressing total support for Governor Bala Mohammed led administration, insisted that the local government Chairman has not done anything wrong to warrant any suspension from the council.

The councilors also advised the state Governor to be warry of some self-seeking politicians around him who they accused of using the issue of alleged involvement of the Executive Chairman in the deforestation of Lame/Burra Game Reserve to achieve their hidden agenda.

“They thought that the Chairman will be a stumbling block in their quest for elective positions. They should be reminded that “it’s God Alinighty that gives leadership to whom he wishes”, Anas said.

The councilors noted that they are the only ones empowered by the constitution to impeach or suspend the chairman who was duly elected and not any other person or group of people.

The councilors also urged the Secretary to the State Government to identify and take necessary action against the perpetrators of the mischievous act.

“We finally wish to reiterate and affirm our unalloyed loyalty to His Excellency the Executive governor and his administration”, the councilors concluded.
