Toro new emirate appeals for elevation to 2nd class status
By Samuel Luka, Bauchi
The people of Toro Emirate in Bauchi state have appealed to Governor Bala Mohammed to elevate their Emir to Second Class status, from the Third Class status recently conferred upon him.
The appeal was made by Comrade Abdulfatah Muazu, President of Toro Uplift, in a letter to the Governor Friday.
According to them, the appeal is based on the emirate’s large population and significant role in the Governor’s successful re-election.
The people of Toro believe that the elevation of the stool to Second Class status would be a fair acknowledgment of their contributions.
The letter noted that the Governor had recently elevated the District Heads of Jama’a and Lame to Second Class Emirs, and the people of Toro are requesting similar treatment for their Emir, Alhaji Umar Adamu Toro.
The people of Toro expressed their gratitude to the Governor for considering their appeal and for the Third Class Emir title granted to their Emir.
They hope that the Governor will review their request and elevate their Emir to Second Class status.
