Fed. Teaching Hospital Azare’s CMD Turbaned as Zanna Dujuma Katagum

His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Farouk II, CON, has turbaned the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Federal Teaching Hospital Azare, Dr. Dauda Abubakar Katagum as the Zanna Dujuma of Katagum emirate, Bauchi state.
The ceremony took place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Emir’s Palace in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Speaking at the turbaning ceremony, former deputy governor of Bauchi state and the Waziri of Katagum, Architect Abdu Sule Katagum, advised the newly appointed titleholder to maintain his commendable character and continue to show respect to the emirate, its elders, and leadership.
He also urged him to work closely with stakeholders across the emirate and the state at large.
While receiving a special homage from Dr. Dauda Katagum shortly after the ceremony, the Emir of Katagum, Dr. Umar Farouk II, noted that the appointment was based on Dr. Dauda’s outstanding track record and contributions to the community.
He expressed hope that the new Zanna Dujuma would continue to build on the existing achievements.
Following the ceremony, a convoy ( Durban) led by the Santalin Katagum escorted the new titleholder from the palace to his residence at GRA.
Santali while, speaking on behalf of the committee, congratulated Dr. Dauda described him as a dedicated and humble individual.
He encouraged him to be patient and to serve as a worthy ambassador of the Katagum Emirate wherever he goes.
He also appealed to the new Zanna Dujuma to contribute towards the realization of Katagum State, leveraging his capacity and influence as a proud son of the emirate.
The turbaning ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including all District Heads under the Katagum Emirate, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Health Sciences Azare (FUHSA), Alhaji Kaulaha Aliyu, the Chief Medical Director of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi, CMD SHIKA ABU Zaria Teaching Hospital, SHIKA, the Medical Director of FMC Misau, Dr Abubakar Musa Former MD FMC Nguru Yobe state and various traditional title holders from across the country.
