Gov Mohammed approves participation of Bauchi in 2025 Ogun sports festival

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has granted approval for the participation of the state in the 2025 22nd National Sports festival in Ogun state.
The deputy governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau stated this on Saturday when he received athletes, coaches and officials from the National Sports Commission on a solidarity visit at the government house, Bauchi.
The Deputy Governor while appreciating the governor for the approval, noted that, preparations have been concluded to ensure that Bauchi state’s athletes participate fully and excel in the festival.
According, the state’s participation in the National Sports Festival since its inception in 1976 has consistently showcased talents in athletics, boxing, football and other key sports disciplines with securing a number of medals for the state.
The deputy governor expressed delight over the visit during which he received the Torch of Unity for the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged “Gateway Games 2025”.
The receiving of the torch is traditionally, the symbol of Unity, peace, friendship and tolerance among Nigerians.
He commended the National Sports Commission and the festival committee for creating a platform that fosters youth development, talent discovery and national integration.
Earlier speaking, an official of the National Sports Commission, Mrs Mbora Ikana, commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his administration’s investment in sporting activities, and promised continued support of the Commission to Bauchi to excel in sporting events.
The Special Assistant on Media to the deputy governor, Muslim Lawal said in a press statement that his boss was accompanied by the secretary to the state government, Aminu Hammayo, commissioner of youth and sports, Adamu Babayo Gabarin among others.
