Police: 50 yr old father allegedly rapes, impregnates 17 yr old biological daughter in Bauchi

A 50 year old father, Umar Alh. Sule of Kurmin Ado village via Kariya ward, Ganjuwa LGA, Bauchi State has been apprehended the police in Bauchi on allegations of raping his own biological daughter.
A crime bulletin made available to newsmen by Bauchi state police command on Friday through its Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil said the incident was reported to the Ganjuwa Divisional headquarters on 3rd April 2025 by one Abdullahi Baban Karatu ‘m’ aged 55yrs of the same address.
According to the bulletin, the accused father had in the month of November 2024 at about 2100hrs, premeditatedly had sexual intercourse with his 17 year old biological daughter (named withheld) in his matrimonial bedroom on different occasions.
CSP Wakil who said, upon receipt of the report, a team of certified seasoned detectives were assigned to conduct a discreet investigation and arrest the accused, stressed that the accused willingly admitted his wrongdoing during interrogation, revealing that he has been molesting her several times on different occasions.
The bulletin said the father also attributed the three months pregnancy of his 17 year old daughter to the act of the rape, as indicated in an examination report obtained from a medical practitioner.
“While interviewing the victim, she corroborated the suspect’s statements, adding that the incident happened when her mother travelled to visit her parents at Burra village via Ningi LGA, Bauchi state, which her father took advantage of and was having sexual intercourse with her”, the crime bulletin revealed.
It explained that on the return of her mother, she observed the victim was pregnant and demanded to know the person responsible for the pregnancy, in which she blamed it on her biological father.
Wakil said investigation is still ongoing and that, his boss, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu has directed that the case be charged to court once investigation finished.
