The Katagum Youths Mobilisation and Enlightenment Forum has called on the former General Manager, Human Resources at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Alhaji Aminu Ya’u to contest for the seat of house of representatives member for Katagum federal constituency come 2027.
According to the forum, the socio-economic and philanthropic initiatives of Alhaji Aminu Ya’u are impressive, hence the call on him to contest for the house of representatives seat.
The forum believes that if Ya’u contests and eventually wins, he could further expand his humanitarian services across Katagum Local Government, which will be of benefit to even more constituents.
Speaking during an interview, Rufai Wada, a representative of the forum, praised Ya’u’s significant contributions to the community, particularly his efforts to secure employment for young people.
He pointed out that Ya’u has facilitated job placements for over 200 youths from Katagum, 85% of whom he had never met.
Wada said, “you didn’t need to know him personally or have influential connections. Just send him your CV, and he will take care of the rest.”
He noted that Ya’u’s legacy of community service, which extends far beyond job creation, has through his foundation, supported orphans and vulnerable individuals in Katagum local government area.
Wada further explained that Ya’u’s initiatives include constructing mosques, equipping them with sound systems and furniture, and empowering young people through self-reliance projects.
The forum said that Ya’u’s selfless service and commitment to youth empowerment has made him an ideal candidate to represent Katagum constituency at the national level.
“He has consistently prioritised service over self-interest,” Wada said. “Imagine the impact he could have with a bigger platform”, Wada stated.
