Governor Mohammed condoles family of murdered Ex-LG chairman, orders thorough investigation

Bauchi state governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has condoled the family of the former local government chairman of Jama’are Local Government area, Isa Muhammad Wabi who was gruesomely murdered at his resident.
The governor in a press statement made available to newsmen by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, directed the police to conduct thorough investigation with a view to unmasking the perpetrators to face justice.
“The Government and the good people of Bauchi State are deeply saddened by the tragic and sudden death of Alhaji Isa Muhammad Wabi, a respected elder and former Chairman of Jama’are Local Government Area, who according to police preliminary investigations, was reportedly attacked in his home by individuals alleged to be acquaintances of his son”, the press statement said.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Bauchi State, His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON , Fnipr ( Kauran Daular Usmaniyya ) the Executive Governor of Bauchi State condoles with the immediate family of the deceased, the people of Jama’are emirate, and all who were touched by his life of service, humility, and commitment to community development”, it further said.
Comrade Gidado said that the Governor expressed shock over the unfortunate incident and has called on the Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies to launch a thorough and impartial investigation with a view to bringing the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice without delay.
“This is a painful loss, not only to the family of the late Isa Mohammed Wabi, but to the entire state”, comrade Gidado quoted the Governor as saying in the press statement.
Governor Bala Mohammed further urged parents and guardians across the state and beyond to pay closer attention to the upbringing and moral development of their children, emphasizing that the decay in societal values must be collectively addressed to prevent such tragedies in the future.
He prayed that the Almighty Allah will grant him Aljanna Firdaus and give his family the courage and fortitude to bear this great loss.
The Bauchi state police had earlier in a crime bulletin made available to newsmen by its Spokesman, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, noted that one Abdulgafar Isa Mohammed has been arrested by the police in connection with the heinous act.
CSP Wakil disclosed that the suspect is in custody for questioning and has cooperated, providing valuable information to the authorities.
According to CSP Wakil, the commissioner of police, Bauchi state command, Sani Omolori who visited the victim’s family, directed discreet investigation into the crime.
“On the early morning of 2nd May 2025, at about 0403 hours, the police command received a distress call from a Good Samaritan concerning an incident involving an attack by a group of youths at Fadaman Mada, located behind government girls secondary school Bauchi”, the PPRO said in the crime bulletin.
