Senator Buba Commission Juma’at Mosque, To Build Islamiyya School In Toro Community

Member representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Buba Umar has commissioned a Juma’at mosque in Tsakanin Tafawa, a hard-to-reach community in Toro local government area of the state.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, prominent Islamic cleric, Prof Mansur Isa Yalwa, said that they started building the mosque a year ago under the Yalwa Foundation where they sought support from various individuals but the work could not be completed.
He added that they seek support from Senator Buba which he donated N10,000 million for the completion of the mosque. He announced that Buba also promised to build toilet facilities and provide carpet to beautify the mosque.
While speaking, Senator Shehu Buba announced a donation of another N10 million to kick start the building of Islamic school and assured to provide potable water and solar electricity in the community.
He lamented that most of the communities in the area are hard to reach and plagued with lack of electricity and portable water.
Senator Buba, who is the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, said: “During my campaign I have crossed all the roads you are seeing and I know of the challenge of the road networks and the situation of the area.
“My coming here to witness the commissioning of this mosque has given me courage to see that as a senator representing them I have to intensify my efforts to see that I do projects that affect them.”
“I have seen with my eyes the deplorable state of the road and the difficult life of the residents. They suffer from lack of potable water and electricity. I have seen first hands the suffering of my constituents.
“I am more than ever determined to ensure that they get water facilities and solar electricity and whatsoever is within my power as their Senator I will do for my people ”
“I count it a privilege to be here to commission this mosque. We thank God and prayed that the new mosque in the community will be an avenue where the people will lead a life that pleases Allah,” he said.
He praised Professor Mansur for starting the mosque project, “My coming here has become a blessing because I also promised to build other facilities,” he added.
“I promise to build an Islamic school where women and children will receive Islamic education and the work will start on Saturday,” Shehu added.
The Senator called on residents, particularly youths, to be law abiding and live in the fear of God, “I have an empowerment programme for the youths, artisans and business men and women to make them self-reliant by giving them what to do.
“Our people are facing difficulties because they do not have basic facilities,” he lamented.
A resident of Tsakanin Tafawa, Muhammad Musa commended the efforts of Dr Munsur Isa Yelwa who facilitated the building of the mosque in the community.
Another resident, Muhammadu Kabiru, Garkuwa Yelwan Balge, “We are honoured that the senator graced the occasion to commission the mosque.
We are praying for Senator Buba to become a governor of our state.”
Kabiru cried that the community didn’t have drinking water, electricity and hospitals as well as roads.
He said, “We have cried about this road for many years and all the 17 traditional leaders in the Zaranda and the district in the area have appealed severally to the state government for something to be done about this road.
“We even had the plan to meet Senator Buba concerning the road and today we are glad in is in our community.
“We also appeal to our senator that even if it culverts he can construct for all, we will be grateful in all measures if the road project will not be possible,” he appealed.
