DOBA Alumni To Host 41 AGM In Yankari

·      To Launch 20mn Appeal Fund To Build NYSC Lodge

The Government Secondary School  Duguri Old Boys Association (DOBA) will hold its annual general meeting on Monday 27th December, 2021 in the famous Yankari Game reserve in Alkaleri Local Government  Area of Bauchi state.

In a press statement issued by the Chairman, organizing committee, Professor Isa Mohammed and made available to newsmen in Bauchi on Sunday, said that arrangement has reached 90 percent towards hosting the event that is going to attract old students of the institution, from within and outside the country. 

The statement said that the objective of the AGM is to foster unity,  brotherhood, to contribute towards the development of GSS Duguri and also create an avenue where former students will meet to share fond memories of their yesteryears amidst fanfare and pageantry.  

According to chairman, “The reunion meeting, being the 41st in the history of the institution that dates back to over 41 years ago, will be a rallying point for former students to explore avenues on how to add value to their alma-mater and also lend a helping hand to humanity in general.” 

The statement quoted professor  Isa Mohammed as saying, “what started as a  with very few old students, has now blossomed into a huge group of very important personalities that can be found across all strata of human endeavours”.  

“It gladdens our hearts to note that old students of DOBA have heeded to the clarion call for the AGM by demonstrating their support through cash and kind. The organizing committee are really very excited about hosting the meeting and we are also assuring those attending that, it will be more than worth their while”. 

Among the important  dignitaries expected at the occasion include the Special Guest of Honor His Excellency  Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed executive Governor of Bauchi State,  Professor  Mansur  Usman Malumfashi of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University  is the Guest speaker at the occasion,  while Executive  Chairman of Alkaleri LGA Alhaji Yusuf  Garba Barayan Alkaleri is the Chief Host .

Other Dignitaries at the occasion include, Emir of Bauchi Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu royal father  of the day while Alhaji Abdulmumini Yakubu Mai Shanu Shafa is the Chief Launcher at the occasion.  

Our correspondent reports that last year some old students were celebrated on their revelation in their respective careers within and outside the state during the 40th AGM that took place at GSS Duguri.
