Ahead of the 10th house of representatives inauguration, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi from Jos, Plateau state has gained the endorsement of over 30 All Progressives Congress (APC) youth groups from North West to succeed Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the speaker.

The North Western APC youth groups demanded that the National assembly speakership position be zoned to the North Central in the interest of peace, justice and equity in the Party.

The National Coordinator of the Coalition of APC Northern Youth Groups, Adamu M. Abdullahi in Kano State who addressed a press conference in Kano during the weekend, noted that today’s Nigeria needed a team player like Adamu Gagdi as the speaker.

According to them, electing Gagdi as speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives will guarantee continuity who will build on the achievements of Femi Gbajabiamila, the outgoing speaker.

They reasoned that Gagdi a member representing Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam from Plateau state has the qualities and ability to cary all the lawmakers along in spite of political divides.

The group further maintained that Gagdi’s track records of robust debates, insightful and constructive arguments on the floor of the house should be able to earn him the position of the speaker of the 10th National assembly.

“A lot of first-timers will be coming into the house, hence, a perfect team player and experienced leader like Hon. Gagdi would therefore be needed as the speaker to ensure stability and good leadership”, they insisted.

They pointed out that Adamu Gagdi will be perfect fit as the country’s next speaker because of his long legislative experience.

“We’ve studied the lawmaker closely by monitoring his progression and development in the house for more than a decade”, the youth said.

“Gagdi has proven himself as a leader and a legislator par excellence, and of great repute and stature, going by the numerious and poeple oriented bills he has single- handedly sponsored and pushed forward in the house”, the noted.

The group further described Adamu Gagdi as not only a core party player loyalists but competent, tested representative of proven integrity and honesty.

Also speaking, the secretary of the movement, Malam Usman Kobi said that the joint struggle for Gagdi to become the speaker was due to his ability to provide 3000 job opportunities to the youth in his constituency.
