Bauchi Education Ministry Heeds Gov’s Directive For Classrooms Building At Dajin Community

By Idris Khalid

The Managing Director of the construction firm, Bash Dee Transport Limited, Alh Bashir Isa has assured the Dajin community that blocks of classrooms project construction would be delivered in two weeks’ time as directed by Governor Bala Mohammed.

It could be recalled that the Governor in a stop at the Dajin village on his way to Bogoro for official function last week saw some primary school pupils learning under a tree for lack of formal classrooms to occupy at one primary school in the area.

The governor expressed shock that despite huge resources that his administration has been spending to rehabilitate and construct schools across the state, there are pupils still learning under trees.

The governor, while addressing the pupils, teachers and residents who had gathered there, described the situation as unacceptable and directed the Ministry of Education to immediately begin the construction of classroom blocks within the next two weeks.

“I therefore direct the Ministry of Education to immediately commence the construction of classrooms here within the next two weeks,” he stated.

A community leader in the area, Bala Mai-Hoto, told the governor that the lack of educational infrastructures is discouraging them from enrolling their children into school.

Following last week’s directive by the governor, work has already commenced at the site as the construction firm BASH Dee Transport Limited has been mobilized to site and work is progressing steadily in what could best be described as promised fulfilled.

Some of the benefiting communities thanked the governor for addressing one of the challenges facing the Dajin community, saying however one other promise by the governor to them was the construction of a road from Mararraban Dajin – Dajin town which has been neglected by successive past administrations in the state.

The Dajin community therefore expressed confidence that the road construction would soon come to fruition, just as the classrooms were being constructed, expressing gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for his concern to them.
