Bauchi Government in collaboration with NDE begins mass training of Commercial Sex Workers CSW on skills acquisitions.

The Bauchi State Government through the State Sharia Commission commenced the training of over five hundreds Commercial sex workers living in Tudun Wadan Daniya fondly call Bayan Gari, an area allegedly houses sort of crime perpetrators.

Baushe Daily Times gathered that about seven skills will be taught at the training which include Knitting, Tailoring, Hair Dressing and Saloon, Catering, Cosmetology, Shoe and Bag making and Make-up with an intent to plus Computer Literacy, Micro Enterprise Enhancement and Poultry and Fishery.

Speaking at the official flag-up ceremony of the training, the permanent commissioner in charge of Hisbah of the State Shari’a Commission Barrister Aminu Balarabe Isah said the training is part of Governor Bala’s administration effort in curtailing criminal activities in the State as well as strengthening the the security sector.

“ We learned that Bayan Gari became a house to sorts of crime perpetrators, hideout and baby factory ” Barrister said.

The Commissioner the used the medium to commend the Bauchi State Office of the National Directorate of Employment for providing trainees and equipments.

“ My speech here is inconclusive without me acknowledging the effort of NDE for the massive contribution they rendered which went a long way making this program prevail ” The Commissioner recited.

Also speaking on the occasion the Bauchi State Coordinator NDE Mallam Ali Lawan Yaya said as a body NDE felt it damn necessary to intervene in such humanitarian activity.

Represented by the Head of Vocational Skills of the Directorate Mr. Jamilu Adamu, the Coordinator assured that NDE have an existing open-door policy to partner with all other progressive partners in serving humanity.

“ NDE as body need to lay her hands opened in serving humanity, this is not the first time we had such collaboration and will not be the last ”

CSW participating in the training who spoke with BDT attached their reason for living such lives to maltreatment from their homes and insurgencies.

The place Bayan Gari faces criticism from people of the Capital city of Bauchi mostly religious bodies and demolish and relocating attempts from governments since 1999 but scaled through for some reasons which people relate with politics.

BDT hear out views from locals who mostly expressed happines over the mass training which they see as strategy by the present administration in the State to tactically destructing the settlement.

Bayan Gari as it fondly called remain the recreational centre for many decades occupied mostly by Commercial Sex Workers, and statistics shows that more than seventy percent of the dwelers are not from Bauchi.
