Traditional rulers urged To engage in Badminton, other games for physical fitness

Traditional rulers as well as middle aged people have been advised to engaged themselves into different sporting activities, most especially Badminton in order to become physically fit.

The Chief Medical director, federal medical center Nguru, Dr Abubakar Musa made the call in an interview with Baushe daily times reporter during the Unity Badminton Championship in Gumel.

The unity Badminton Championship was organize by Honorable Nazifi Sani Gumel, member representing Gumel, Maigatari, Sule Tankarkar and Gagarawa in the Federal house of Assembly.

Dr. Musa who is also a consultant orthopedic surgeon described the exercise as very important to health, taking into cognisance that it helps to exercise all the body part.

He said Badminton is the fastest ranking game being played by all class of people, including traditional rulers, politicians, middle aged as well as the younger once.

Dr. Musa added that the game also help to reduce diseases from people such as diabetes, hypertension among others.

According to him, Badminton also help in creating and sustaining social interaction, peace and unity among the people.

Dr Musa who also commended the sponsor and the organizers for coming up with the initiative, called on them to maintain to tempo.
