2023: Governor Bala reiterates support for Atiku’s presidential candidature

Bauchi state Governor, Bala Mohammed has expressed support to the presidential candidature of the former Nigerian Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Governor who was addressing stakeholders of his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the government house Saturday, said Bauchi state is with the National working Committee of the party.
“We are together from top to bottom, we respect our presidential candidate and we are with him”, Bala Mohammed who was one of the presidential aspirants of the PDP said.
The Governor added, “we respect the national party, national working committee and here too”.
He further said, “it is not that we don’t have problem, we do have problems but politics is about accommodation, swallowing your own problem and challenges for the greater benefit of the bigger picture, the general public”.
Bala who commended the leadership of the people’s Democratic Party PDP for conducting a very transparent primaries in the state noted that Bauchi is the only state in Nigeria with loyal political players.
The Governor who described the party as supreme, said in some places there were hues and cries unlike in Bauchi where only complaints were recorded and have been amicably addressed.
“This is why today if you see some of the national analysis on the problems and challenges of the party, you will never hear Bauchi been mentioned.
Bala said, “our responsibility and our interest now is Bauchi state and we here without any inch of arrogance to make sure we confront our challengers”.
He said that the aim of the meeting was to sit down and reminiscence, discuss and chart a new way, looking at the electoral act, party guidelines and personal challenges and to really regroup and refocus.
“We are confronted with a very long period of electioneering and campaigning which is going to cost so much and take so much time and we have to strategize”, he said.
Bala said since assumption of office in 2019, his administration has been preoccupied with initiatives and Programmes that are aim at adding value to the lives of the citizens across 20 local government areas of the state.
The Governor said he has not seen a state where PDP has received decampees like Bauchi, adding that he even appointed his campaign DG from one of the decampees and no body opposed him.
The Governor who however, noted that managing success is a big challenge, tasked the party members to open up and accommodate one another.
“There must be patience and accommodation, we must respect each other, those coming in should respect those that are here and those who were found here must respect those coming in”, the Governor advised
