LG chairman hands over proposed Eid-el-Fitr Mosque Ground to Dambam Emirate Council

The Executive chairman of Dambam local government area, Honorable Iliya Dagauda has officially handed over a parcel of land designated for the construction of an Eid-el-Fitr Mosque within Dambam metropolis.
The handover ceremony took place during a tree-planting campaign organised by the Dambam Local Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the creation of Bauchi State.
The event combined environmental sustainability with religious development, reflecting the local government’s commitment to holistic grassroots development.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Iliya Dagauda described the allocation of land for the Eid-el-Fitr Mosque as a fulfillment of his administration’s promise to support Islamic institutions and promote unity among the people of Dambam Emirate.
He noted that the mosque, when constructed, will serve as a central place of worship to Muslims during Eid-el-Fitr prayers and other important religious events.
The chairman further stated that the tree-planting exercise was part of broader efforts by the Bauchi State Government and local councils to promote environmental protection, beautify urban centres, and combat the effects of climate change.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for prioritising sustainable development as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the state.
The Emir of Dambam, Alhaji Idris Bappah Musa Suleiman, who was represented by the District Head of Dagauda, expressed profound appreciation to the executive chairman for the gesture.
He described the allocation of land for the Eid-el-Fitr Mosque as timely and significant, noting that, it will strengthen religious harmony and communal bonding across the emirate.
The Emir assured the chairman and the Bauchi state government of continued support, loyalty, and cooperation of traditional rulers and the entire Dambam Emirate Council toward government policies and programmes.
He emphasised that traditional institutions would remain partners in progress, especially in areas of peacebuilding, social mobilisation, and community development.
The event also highlighted the strong collaboration between the local government administration and the Dambam Emirate Council, showcasing a shared vision for development, good governance, and people-oriented leadership.
Stakeholders at the event, praised the chairman for his inclusive leadership style and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
Our Correspondent gathered that dignitaries present at the occasion include, Head of Administration of the Dambam Local Government, council members, district heads, political office holders, local government staff, and other stakeholders from across the local government area.
They all commended the initiative as a landmark achievement for Dambam Emirate.
The ceremony ended with the symbolic planting of trees at the proposed mosque site, reinforcing the message of growth, sustainability, and a brighter future for the people of Dambam.
