Reconstruction of Bauchi government house will place the state among its peers – Yakubu Umar Muhammed

It was indeed a good news to hear that our Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has awarded contract for the Reconstruction and rehabilitation of Bauchi government house at a viable amount of N6.2 billion only.

When I first heard about the proposed reconstruction and rehabilitation of the government house during public hearing on 2021 budget, I was a bit skeptical, thinking it’s going to be business as usual but was later astonished that it was really captured in the budget.

This people oriented project which is coming at a better time after 45 years of the birth of the state is indeed a welcome development.

Governor Bala Mohammed of the state had late this week while speaking at the ground breaking ceremony told the gathering that the effort of his administration was aimed at bequeathing enduring legacy in the state.

He had told the gathering that quotations were received from various contracting companies with N13 billion as the least, but after careful scrutiny and all the due processes, it was scaled down to N6.2 billion only.

A friend of mine who witnessed the ground breaking ceremony which was performed by the Chairman of Northeast Governors forum, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state heard the contractor assuring the people of Bauchi of doing quality and enduring work.

He also teased me that the project when completed, will make the state look like Dubai.

One out of numerous reasons that endeared me to Governor Bala Mohammed is his prudent management of the state resources where all sectors of the economy are been judiciously and transparently utilized.

If it were Mr. Q at the helm of affairs, he would have perhaps opted for the N13 billion but at the end of the day, four years will go down the drain without anything to show.

Since 1976 when Bauchi state was created by the military head of state olusegun obasanjo, since then only minor works were being carried out on the aged-long structure.

In deed, Bala Mohammed is all out to save the state of embarrassment occasioned by total infrastructural decay as inherited from the immediate past government in the state.

No wonder, project of such magnitude requires a man with a vision and mission to reposition the state on the global map of tourism, that is no other person than His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

Anybody who knows governor Bala will tell you that this is a tip of an ice bag but the best is yet to come. Indeed, Governor Bala is a wonder man in the spheres of development not only in Bauchi state but the country at large.

As a former distinguished senator for Bauchi south senatorial, Bala is not new in the tactical ways of development as his indelible marks in the FCT is glaring for all to behold.

Apart from the ongoing massive infrastructural development and the ones that have been completed in less than two years of administration, this gigantic project will no doubt place Bauchi at par among its peers.

With these laudable developments, it is incumbent on the good people of Bauchi state to continue to support the present government that is determined to change totally, their living standard for better.
