Farouk Should Hear Them, Not

The news of the nomination of Hon. Farouk Mustapha as a commissioner birthed a heated debate in the media space; some people appreciated the new development while others expressed their dismay over the nomination.

However, to become a commissioner, one must be one of the members of the state executive council, whose job it is to decide and direct the affairs of the state. What job is superior to that, huh?

To my amazement and disappointment, people I hold in high esteem were part of those who generated traffic in the media; they could not see the good side of the development because of sentiment.

After Farouk decamped to the PDP, he secured political appointments for his political loyalists and supporters—too many to number—a gesture that attracted him applause and commendation from not only his party members but the wing of the opposition.

Still, with his influence and passion for youth inclusiveness, Farouk nominated a youth—Muhammad Salees, namely—from Gamawa as commissioner, which is quite a rare development in the history of Bauchi politics.

Therefore, while they keep on clucking, Farouk should not hear them.
