Northern Youths Thumbs Up For Military, General Christopher Musa

Youths in the North have observed that the enthusiasm, commitment and vigour being exhibited by Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa towards protecting lives and government oil installations are evident in the decline of incidences of terrorism and oil theft.

Making the observation by the Northern Youths Association of Nigeria (NYAN) in a press release issued in Bauchi yesterday said, “We appreciate his courage and commitment to restoring peace and order in Nigeria. He has indeed repositioned the Nigerian military in the most appropriate standing to express its mandate.” 

The President of the association Ambassador Godiya T. Adams Bogoro which evaluated and analysed the Army General, stated that, “We make bold to say that the CDS has been able to justify the confidence reposed in him by Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” 

According to the president, it is based on General Musa’s efforts in efficient and effective deployment of the Nigerian military against the insurgents, bandits, and the IPOB, that the association passed a Vote of Confidence on the Chief of Defence Staff.

“We applaud CDS strategic approach and collaboration with other security agencies. It was also observed that the approach has yielded more results in the efforts to return peace and security to the affected areas. It was similarly understood that the new military engagement tactics respect human rights’”, Bogoro said.

Ambassador Bogoro who explained that his association passed the vote of confidence on the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa at its annual review meeting in Abuja last Saturday, said that the vote of confidence was in response to a call to appraise the efforts of the Nigerian military in fighting insecurity and promoting peace and a stable nation.

He stated that after a holistic appraisal of the efforts of the Nigerian military in the crusade to free the country from the activities of insurgents and bandits terrorising the citizens, the association found the Nigerian military worthy of emulation, hence the unanimous passage of the vote of confidence on CDS Musa.

Bogoro recalled that General Christopher Musa has since assumption to office as the CDS, brought his wealth of experience to bear in the battlefield, saying his leadership has maintained good a working relationship with stakeholders in the armed forces, especially in formulating and execution of good policies and programmes towards attaining national security and operation competence of the army.

Ambassador Godiya T. Adams Bogoro added that, “The Nigerian Military has recorded significant achievements in the fight against various security threats facing the country, as a result of the deployment of troops and equipment to affected areas and intensified intelligence gathering and collaboration with civilians”, the association concluded.
