Rights Activist advocates easy registration process at CAC to promote cultural rights

In order to uphold socio-cultural rights and heritage of Nigeria’s diverse ethnic nationalities, Human Rights Activist, Mr. Mbami Iliya Sabka has appealed to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to simplify process of registration of organizations.

Sabka, a seasoned socio- cultural human rights Activist, urged the commission in a press release on Thursday to adopt a more inclusive approach in facilitating the registration of cultural organizations, devoid of unnecessary technicalities that often frustrate the process.

He argued that Nigeria, being a multi-ethnic country, boasts of a rich tapestry of cultural diversity, with each ethnic group contributing uniquely to the nation’s heritage.

“It is imperative that these ethnicities are granted the right to register and promote their socio-cultural rights and traditional religions without facing marginalization or prejudice”, he said.

Sabka emphasized the need for the CAC to recognize the significance of cultural organizations in preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Nigeria’s ethnic nationalities.

According to him, such organizations serves as custodians of invaluable traditions, languages, and customs, which are integral to the fabric of Nigerian society.

Sabka further noted that the importance of fostering an environment of inclusivity and respect for diversity, where all ethnic groups are given equal opportunities to celebrate and preserve their cultural identities is highly required.

He said, by streamlining the registration process for cultural organizations, the CAC can play a pivotal role in promoting unity and understanding among Nigeria’s diverse populace.

Sabka urged the Corporate Affairs Commission to heed to his call and take proactive measures to encourage the registration of cultural organizations, thereby ensuring the preservation and promotion of Nigeria’s rich socio-cultural heritage.

“Together, let us embrace our diversity and celebrate the mosaic of cultures that define our great nation”, he said.
