Leverage on Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy to scale up human capital – Gov Bala enjoins Northeast Governors

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has enjoined his counterparts from the North East to take advantage of the Oil and Gas Academy he established in the state to scale up human capital in strategic skills across their respective states.

The Governor who gave the advice while delivering his remark at the opening ceremony of the Northeast Governors Forum at the government house Bauchi on Friday, said his administration is carrying out the constitution of International Conference Center (ICC) which will open Bauchi and other states of the Northeast.

“In Bauchi State, we decided to establish the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy; that states of the Northeast should be able to take advantage of the school to substantially scale up their human capital, in strategic skills”, he said.

“The same goes for the International Conference Centre (ICC) component of our remodelled Government House. These facilities will always be open to our sister states and others”, Governor Mohammed added.

While commending the Chairman of the Northeast Governors Forum, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state for steering the forum well, Bala Mohammed expressed optimisms that the member states would always leverage beneficial policies and facilities of members.

Governor Mohammed further opined that the most potent weapons against insecurity are education and gainful employment.

Our Correspondent reports that the members of the Northeast Governors that include, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, the Chairman of the Forum, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state and Agbu Kefas of Taraba state are currently attending the meeting in Bauchi.
