The Bauchi state Police Command has recovered firearms from hoodlums in Mai-ari-arewa axis of Alkaleri local government area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil who made this known in a crime bulletin on Thursday, noted that the hoodlums bowed to superior fire power of the police after opening fire on them.

He said a locally made fabricated revolver, a den gun and ammunition were recovered from the hoodlums who narrowly escaped into the bush with wounds.

According to Wakil, the success followed the directive of the State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Muhammad Musa to all Area Commanders, DPOs, and other Strategic Tactical Commanders to conduct regular raids of black spots across the State to bolster community confidence.

He said that the CP is aiming at ensuring that the Police in Bauchi state upholds the international best practicing policing standards.

SP Wakil explained that the initiative has yielded positive results, exemplified by the recent dislodgement of the hoodlums from the black spot in Alkaleri local government area.

The PPRO said that the incident occurred on 17th July, 2024 at about 0430hrs, when operatives of the Command, led by DPO Alkaleri CSP Mohammed B. Usman, conducted a raid along Mai-ari-arewa axis.
