Bauchi Youth Assembly Fires Back At Dogara, Senator Buba, Says They Are Surrogates

The vitriolic outburst of Senator Shehu Buba Umar and Rt. Hon. Yakubu against Governor Bala Mohammed has been described as a clear indication of their desperation and frustration with the progress being made in the state.

The Bauchi Youth Democratic Assembly which made the description said that the state under the leadership of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has made significant developmental strides in the past five years implementing various projects and programmes aimed at improving the livelihood of citizens.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday the leader of delegation Danjuma Zakka Arewa and convener Daure David said, “They are envying his achievements which include construction of roads across the 20 LGAs, improving transportation,  reconstruction and rebuilding the New Government House, facilitating economic growth, and providing a conducive working environment for government officials to serve the state better.”

They also enumerated other achievements of Governor Bala Mohammed as revamping the health sectors, renovation and equipping of hospitals and healthcare centers, revamping the education sector, renovation and equipping schools, training of teachers, and implementing youths-oriented programs, including skills acquisition and empowerment initiatives.

“These achievements are testament to Governor Mohammed’s visionary leadership and commitment to the people of Bauchi state. Dogara’s statement on the other hand, is replete with falsehoods, personal attacks, and a blatant disregard for facts”.

The youth assembly observed that Dogara has consistently demonstrated lack of understanding of governance and leadership, stressing that his criticisms of Governor Bala Mohammed’s response to the recent protests are unfounded and mischievous.

“Dogara’s criticism of Governor Mohammed’s leadership style is hypocritical, given his own record as Speaker of the House of Representatives. His tenure was marked by inefficiency, corruption, and a lack of accountability. He has no moral ground to question Governor Mohammed’s leadership”.

According to the youth, Senator Shehu Buba Umar has failed to attract any significant projects to his constituency for over a year now, and his statement that Governor Bala is his political mate, not Tinubu, is laughable.

They argued that Senator Buba has forgotten how Governor Bala made him caretaker Chairman of Toro LGA in 2019, which he has attested to on many occasions, describing Governor Bala as his political godfather. 

“Dogara and Shehu Buba’s allegations are baseless and lack substance. They are simply trying to distract the public from their own failures and shortcomings”, the youth added.

Governor Mohammed has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of citizens, and his efforts are bearing fruit, hence Dogara and Shehu Buba’s attempts to tarnish his image will not succeed. The people of Bauchi state know the truth and they will continue to support their governor”, concluded the assembly conveners, Arewa and Daure David.
