Promotion Exams: Bauchi pegs 85% as benchmark for civil servants

As the 2024 Batch ‘A and ‘B’ promotion examination for Bauchi civil servants draws nearer, the office of the state Head of Civil Service has pegged 85 percent as benchmark.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of a two-day Sensitization workshop to prepare the Batch ‘A and ‘B’ civil servants for the promotion examination on Wednesday, the Bauchi state Head of Civil Service, Yahuza Haruna Adamu cheered the participants to aim at exceeding the 85% benchmark.
“Aim to exceed the 85% benchmark and set new records of excellence”, the Head of Service said at the workshop held at the Multi purpose Indoor Sports Hall Bauchi.
“Remember that your success is not just a personal achievement but also a reflection of our collective commitment to Public Service”, he said.
“So stay focused, work diligently and believe in yourselves. You really have the potentials to excel and make us proud go out there ands make it happen”, he added.
According to him, his office is committed to ensuring that the workshop is informative, engaging and beneficial to the career advancement of the promotion examinees.
He said that the Civil Service Promotion Examination is a critical component of the Commission’s efforts to ensure that the Civil Service remains vibrant, dynamic and responsive to the needs of the Citizens.
Yahuza further explained that the workshop is designed to equip the civil servants with the necessary knowledge, skills and strategies to excel in the examination.
While advising them to ask questions during the workshop for better understanding, Yahuza assured that the consultants have carefully crafted a comprehensive program to cover all aspects of the examination.
He noted that the workshop will not only prepare them for the examination but will also enhance their overall performance and contributions to the Civil Service of the State.
The head of service also congratulated those that passed the last examinations with an impressing 85% pass rate, saying that their hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence have truly paid off and that the service is proud of them.
He described their success as a testament to the high standard of Civil Service in Bauchi state and a reflection of their tireless efforts to serve our dear State.
The head of service also sounded warning to the participants against indulging in any form of examination malpractice, saying that the commission has taken a zero- tolerance approach to exam malpractice in the recent promotion exams.
“Let me be clear; any form of cheating or unethical behaviour will not be condoned. In-fact we have already initiated disciplinary actions against those who were caught engaging in malpractice during the last examination exercise to serve as a stern warning to anyone considering compromising the integrity of our exams”, he said.
According to him, the conduct of the examination will continue to be under vigilance and monitoring, while strict examinations protocols would be put in place to ensure that highest standard of conduct are maintained.
