In an effort to ensure community support, a Non-Governmental Organisation based in Wukari, Taraba State, Mfanyiwa Orphanage Foundation, has extended a helping hand to patients and their caregivers at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi.
The foundation distributed a range of essential items, including foodstuffs, T-shirts, children’s clothing, detergents, and laboratory equipment such as test kits, among other supplies.
The founder and director of the foundation, Mrs Catherine Wakasa Solomon, explained that the initiative was a token of gratitude to God for her daughter, Victory Solomon, who recovered from a fractured leg sustained earlier this year in an accident during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
In an interview, Miss Victory Solomon said the exceptional treatment she received at ATBUTH, prompted her mother’s appreciation for the care provided.
Speaking, the Chief Medical Director of ATBUTH, Professor Jibril Yusuf, represented by the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, (CMAC), Dr Haruna Usman Liman, described the donation as a rare and meaningful gesture, highlighting its positive impact on the lives of vulnerable, bedridden patients.
He commended her for travelling the considerable distance from Taraba State to support those in need, urging others to follow her footprint.
The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, represented by Reverend Saleh Abdutaleh, Wakilin Wajen Bauchi, also praised the foundation’s initiative, assuring the Emirate’s full support for Mrs Solomon’s humanitarian efforts, which he described as commendable and inspiring.
Our Correspondent reports that the excitement in the faces of beneficiaries was a clear testimony of their appreciation.
