Bauchi Polytechnic organises 5-day security training across Northeast

The Management of Abubakar Tatari Ali polytechnic (ATAP) Bauchi has organised a 5-day training workshop for registered private security personnel across the six states of the Northeast.
Our Corresspondent gathered that the training was organized under the leadership of the Dean school of General studies, Dr Muhammad A.sulaiman in synergy with NEDC.
The training commences in Bauchi state from 29th March to 2nd April 2022. With the theme: ‘Role of Informal Security Operatives In Combating Insecurity In The Northeast of Nigeria’.
Speaking at the event, the Acting State Coordinator Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), Alh. Ibrahim muhammad Bashir highlighted some of the challenges bedeviling the region.
According him, some of the security challenges he said, ranges from Boko -Haram, banditry among other heinous acts, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to fight against the menace.
He called on the participants to put into reality what they would undergo as security experts would train them on security and defence taktics.
On his part, the Rector of the polytechnic, Alh. Dr. Adamu sa’idu who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Hashim Sabo described the program as timely when the country especially the Northeast region is in need of urgent Security intervention to safeguard the territorial integrity of the nation.
He urged the participants to fully take the advantage of the initiative in order to make meaningful impact in security situation in the region.
The Rector thanked the organizers for such gesture and called for its sustainance.
On his part, the Dean School of General Studies (SGS) who is also the Programme Coordinator of the five-day training, called on the 20 trainees to see the selection out of millions as a previlege.
He urged them to make judicious use of the knowledge that is embedded in the training.
The Dean noted that similar program would be delivered across six states of the northeast states of Gombe, Borno, Adamawa, Yobe as well as Taraba.
one of the participants Sulip Shuaibu who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries of the 5-day security training, expressed happiness over the gesture and thanked the organizers for such initiative.
He pledged to put into practice, the knowledge they acquired during the training. .
