SMEDAN trains over 200 small business owners on record keeping, management in Bauchi

Over 200 small business owners have been trained by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) on proper record keeping and managerial skills in Bauchi state.

The State Manager of SMEDAN, Abdulrashid Andu Aliyu while Speaking during a post training programme organized for the beneficiaries in his office, said the training was under the National Agri-Preneurship Training Scheme of the federal government.

According to Aliyu who is also the Coordinator of National Entrprenureship program in Bauchi, said that the training has impacted positively on the beneficiaries in Bauchi State.

Aliyu said that the beneficiaries who are into cooperatives groups were also given over two hundred and fifty thousand naira each by SMEDAN to further boost their businesses.

He noted that the post training programme was to assess the level of progress made by the beneficiaries and the challenges they are facing in utilizing the training they got and intervention in order to address them.

The Coordinator said that the beneficiaries were also sensitized on how to seek guidance from NAFDAC, Standard Organization of Nigeria SON and Corporate Service Commission on how to improve their businesses.

Also speaking, one of the beneficiaries, Bello Inuwa Galoji from Mabuga Multipurpose Cooperative Society commended the federal government for the gesture.

Galoji said that the training he received has impacted positively on his business which has recorded tremendous successes.

For Aishatu Abdullahi, a poultry farmer said she has witnessed a lot of changes in the way and manner business is supposed to be operated, adding that, it has improved her income.

Aishatu who thanked SMEDAN for the initiative said, “I use to have like 10 chicken in my farm only, but with the training and financial intervention I got from SMEDAN, now I use to keep more than that, and I also have workers under me”.
