Yobe government declare three work-free days to enable civil servants, register for PVC

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has declared three days as public holiday to enable the civil servants register, revalidate and or collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs).

This was contained in a circular from the office of the state head of service and made available to newsmen, directed heads of ministries, departments and agencies to ensure compliance.

“I write to convey the approval of His Excellency, Hon. Mai
Mala Buni, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, for the declaration of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (29th June to
1st July, 2022) as work free days”, parts of the circular signed by the Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Garba Bilal.

The circular pointed out that the three days public holiday was to enable civil servants participate in the voters card registration, revalidation and collection.

“This is because of the importance the state government
attached to the on-going voters registration exercise nationwide”, the Acting Head of service said.

The Yobe government expressed hope that the civil servants would
reciprocate the good gesture by ensuring that they participate
in the exercise.

The circular which was dated 27th June, 2022, said essential service providers are advised to remain on
alert.

The circular was copied to deputy Chief of Staff to the deputy Governor; the Clerk of the Yobe state house of assembly; Secretary to the State Government; Commissioners; Permanent Secretaries; Chief Registrars, High Court of Justice and Sharia Court of Appeal; Chief Executives of Boards, parastatals and
Extra-Ministerial Departments.
