Minority ethnic groups declare support for Bala, Atiku ahead 2023 in Bauchi

As the permutations ahead of the 2023 general elections gathers momentum, coalition of minority ethnic groups in Bauchi State have unanimously endorsed Governor Bala Mohammed’s second term bid.
The coalition with membership that cuts across the 20 Local Government Areas of the state also declared their support for the presidential candidature of the former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariate of the Bauchi state Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ Sunday, the leader of the coalition, Hon Samuel J. Haruna described the former Vice President as the most qualified among all other candidates contesting for the number one political seat in Nigeria.
He disclosed that the minority ethnic groups met and unanimously endorsed Governor Bala Mohammed of the state and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at a recent meeting.
“We are about three million and our membership cuts across every strata of the society”, Engineer Dabo Yakubu Dabs, the Spokesperson of the Coalition who read the speech on behalf of the leader said.
According to him, the members of the coalition include leaders of thought, captains of industry, the academia, entrepreneurs, businessmen and women, and youths as well as notable personalities.
The leader who was in company with Engineer Dabo Yakubu Dabs, spokesperson, Yohanna Bogoro, Secretary, Yusuf Iliya, Youth Leader and Maryam Laraba Tanimu, Women Leader, said the group has critically evaluated and reviewed the performance of Governor Bala in three years and scored his administration high.
“Our assessment is based on nine criteria that include proactive approach to security, infrastructures, water supply, healthcare, economic
empowerment, education, Agriculture, Inclusive governance and regional
integration”, he said.
The group pointed out that Governor Bala Mohammed has performed creditably well and far beyond expectations.
“He has done in three and half years, what others could not do in eight years”, the coalition said.
Hon. Haruna said in view of the aforementioned reasons and several others too numerous to mention, they have unanimously adopted and endorsed the Governor for second term of four years.
The coalition of minority ethnic groups called on their sons and daughters in the state, at home and abroad to join hands with them to ensure the success of the governor in the forthcoming guber election.
While commending the governor for what they described as his remarkable and exemplary way of piloting the affairs of Bauchi state, the minority ethnic groups thanked the governor for the monumental infrastructural development been executed across the state.
“We also expressed full satisfaction with the prudent manner he has managed merger resources of the state culminating in the prompt payment of salaries of civil
servants”, they said.
The group equally lauded the governor for his proactive approach and responses to security
matters which is responsible for the peace and security of lives and prosperity being enjoyed in the state.
The coalition also appraised the governor for his inclusive leadership style, which they said is “unprecedented in the history of Bauchi state, urging him to continue to sustain the good tempo.
“We cannot but also appreciate him for always placing the interest of the state first in every policy of his administration”, they added.
The coalition therefore, passed a vote of confidence and endorsement of the governor for another well-deserved term of four years.
The leader of the coalition while advising the people against playing party politics above the interest of the state, urged the citizens to join hands with Bala Mohammed in his quest to restore the lost glory of Bauchi state.
