Insecurity: ex-Bauchi governor Yuguda challenge Governors to secure their lands, says Buhari has done his best

Amidst growing insecurity in some parts of Nigeria, former Bauchi state Governor, Malam Isa Yuguda has challenged Governors to secure their lands and not to wait for President Muhammadu Buhari to do it for them.
Malam Yuguda who was speaking when he featured in a Channels tv Sunrise Daily show on Monday insisted that the president has done his best in steering the affairs of the nation despite the serious security and economic concerns.
The former Governor who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for piloting the affairs of Nigeria, urged Nigerians to hold their governors responsible if they see something going wrong in terms of security.
He explained that a Governor is sworn-in to protect life and property of the citizens because he is the one in charge of the land and not the president.
The former Governor who further argued that the governors owned their respective lands and not the President, challenged them not to wait for the president to secure their states.
“Mr President has done his best. Everybody’s best is different. So I can say the President has done his best”, Yuguda was quoted to have pointed out.
The former Bauchi state governor who said the president has appointed actors to assist him to manage the country, noted that those appointed are also doing their best.
“It all depends on somebody’s assessments. As far as I’m concerned, the President has done his best”, Malam Yuguda further said.
The ex-Bauchi governor however admitted that the statistics on Nigerian security and economy which are a little bit depressing but insisted it wasn’t the President’s fault.
“Any rational Nigerian will know that it could not have been any better no matter who was there on the driving seat,” he argued.
Malam Yuguda who said most of the happenings in Nigeria are historical, explained that, “if you are coming from an environment where the foundation has been distorted, then what you reap is what you sow”.
Isa Yuguda who further asserted that security challenges is a historical thing which didn’t start with Buhari’s government, recalled that it started in 2008, 2009.
According to him, security challenges cannot be associated with the President despite being the overall head in the country.
