Samuel Luka, Bauchi

Body of Bauchi Lawyers of Conscience (BOBALAC) has denied insinuations that some of their members have abandoned Governor Bala Mohammed of the state by declaring support to the All Progressives Congress APC Guber candidate ahead of the 2022 general elections.

BOBALAC while denying the defection rumors of some of their members from the Legal team of the Governor in a press release said none of the members has left or thinking of leaving.

Jointly signed by Barr. Abdullatif G. Isa and Barr. Abbakar S. Idris, chief and Secretary of the group respectively, BOBALAC reiterated its total support to the governor ahead 2023 and beyond.

BOBALAC said that the press release was necessitated by growing speculations and fake information being shared across social media platforms that some its members have defected to the opposition APC Governorship candidate in the state.

“The height and extent of the speculations which dominated the public space last week was such that the leadership of this body had to address a couple of inquiries on the issue from Lagos where they went to attend NBA’s Annual General Conference”, the release said.

“In order to put the issue in perspective, we hereby categorically state that none of the members of this esteemed group at any level has defected from His Excellency’s side to any other camp”, BOBALAC clarified.

The press release further explained that the entire structure and membership of BOBALAC remains supportive to Governor Bala’s administration in the state and will continue to discharge the role of learned wise men as the times and circumstances may demand.

The group urged the Governor and his cabinet to continue to deepen the on-going engagement, rapprochement, alliances and confidence building across all strata and stakeholders in the state such that as much as possible, genuine issues or differences are ironed out in the greater interest of the state.

“May we live to witness and actively contribute to the re-election bid of His Excellency along with other popular candidates in all the elective positions in the state and beyond come 2023”, the group of Lawyers prayed.
