Bauchi N-Power Beneficiaries Laud FG for Tackling Unemployment

By Mohammed kaka

Beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power programme in Bauchi State have lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for curtailing unemployment in the country through the initiative.

Mallam Salihu Umar, Bauchi State Chairman, N-power Ambassadors, made this known at a press briefing on Friday in Bauchi.

He said the program was aimed at tackling the country’s poverty rate and create employment for the youth through youth entrepreneurship.

Umar said, “the initiative has brought hope to many youths by the monthly payment of N30,000 stipends with the provision of electronic devices for the beneficiaries in the state.

“We are children of nobody in the state but through the programme for three years we have been receiving the stipends up to the exit period.

“We have benefited immensely, therefore, we dissociate ourselves from the protest against government, organized by a group of individuals who claimed to be N-Power beneficiaries in the state.”

The Chairman appealed to President Buhari through the office of the Minster of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to fulfill the long awaited promise to N-power volunteers with the exit package.

“It could be recalled that in March, 2022, the FG in conjunction with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) organized an entrepreneurial training for the beneficiaries.

“Where the business plans were submitted based on the choice of business that each beneficiary wanted to establish as his own business and funds were promised to be disbursed.

“We call on the FG to look into our plight and consider the exit package for us to be self-reliant and productive in the society,” Umar added.
