Post Flood Recovery, Reintegration and Resources Mobilisation

Yesterday i visited the office of WFP to discuss and review results of the 2022 Multi-sectoral Flood Need Assessment and advocate for more Resources to support victims of flood disaster.

The meeting amongst other things deliberated on Imediate Emergency needs for victims and sustainable livelihood support. Though there has been funding challenges globally, WFP has indicated concerns to use available resources and respond accordingly.

High risk LGA/ communities (Jakusko, Bade, Geidam, Bursari, Mutai and Some Communities in Gulani) who lose farmlands in addition to households are to be prioritize and supported and those with opportunities of dry season farming will be given higher priority and supported with improve seeds and dry season farm implemets.

SEMA will continue reaching out to key partners to advocate for more resources and ensure the 2022 Flood MSNA is used to access funding and complement Governor Bunis post Flood Recovery Plan.
