Kogi 2023: Why We Are Negotiating With Another Political Party – Former LP Aspirant
An aspirant with the Labour Party for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Mr. ThankGod Simon Mameh has said that negotiating his candidacy with another political party is imperative as his earlier political party was already enmeshed with crisis especially at the national level even before the primary elections.
Mameh revealed this during an interactive session with journalist in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital Monday.
The labour party according to him should have harness the blessing it was endowed with withing the very short time Mr. Peter Gregory Obi came on board but instead series of power tussles bedeviled the party.
He disclosed that he’ll make his new flatform known withing 48hrs from today believing that the new political party under which he’ll contest is run by erudite politicians that have carve a niche to be trusted time over.
He further disclosed that selecting the party is not easy cognisance that party leaders have to be scrutinized by a candidate with a view to pitch tent with a party that has outstanding quality leadership.
On the issue of labour party Mameh said “As I’m talking now, there is no concrete assurance that the person tag as candidate of the labour party for Kogi gubernatorial election will remain the party’s candidate because the Lamidi Apapa faction of the party are saying and they believe that any primary Election for Kogi, Imo and Rivers conducted by the Julius Abure led EXCO is null and void because of an FCT court order they revealed they’ve obtain stopping Abure from parading himself as the national chairman.”
He stressed that his advisers thought that the crisis of the labour party will be quell before the primary elections but it was inflame and aggravated heading only to oblivion.
