The Acting Medical Director of Federal Medical Center Azare, Dr Auwal Saminu Jibrin has commended his predecessor, Dr. Abdullahi Ibrahim over his numerous achievements in the Centre.
The Acting MD gave the commendation during a handing over ceremony at the premises of the hospital Saturday.
‘We gathered here to celebrate the successes achieved by the administration of our Chairman of the Top Management Committee in the person of Dr. Abdullahi Ibrahim”, he said.
According to him, Dr. Abdullahi Ibrahim who has been a friend to him for nearly 25 years now, recalled that they started together as House officers in Kano before relocating to Azare.
“He actually persuaded us to come here and join him in the service of this center, so, literally, he brought us here and since then, we have been working quite harmoniously with him especially in the last eight years when he became the MD”, the Acting MD revealed.
Dr. Jibrin said he personally served under the outgoing Medical Director as HOD ophthalmology and later as deputy head of clinical services before becoming the head of the clinical services.
“We have learned how to cope him especially the aspect that the head of audit was mentioning that if he wants something to be achieved, ‘it’s a war’ you must do it, in which to many of us in the TMC we thought it was over tasking but at the end of the day we realized that it was the only to achieve something and I think many of us have coped and we have finally even adopted his style to the extent that if you want something to be done you must insist on it been carried out at the stipulated time otherwise it will not be done”, he said.
The Acting MD added; “So I think as you are leaving us you are not leaving completely, you will still be with us as a mentor because in the next few months we will have to be consulting you on how to clear certain issues because a leader is always a leader”.
In their separate goodwill messages, Mohammed Ibrahim kari the Head of Admin., Mohammed S. Kardam, the Head of Nursing, Codelia K. Drai, Head of Pharmacy, Lamara Zailani, Head of finance, Dr. Iragboge Al-mustapha, Imoudu, deputy head of clinical services and Aminu Nakaka, Secretary top management Committee, all praised the retired MD for transforming the hospital.
