After Primary elections, Bauchi PDP appoints 22-member reconciliation Committee

The Bauchi state Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted a reconciliation Committee comprising of 22 party stalwarts to identify and resolve grievances emanating from the just concluded party primaries across the state.

Governor Bala Mohammed while inaugurating the committee at the Government House on Monday explained that the committee is expected to interact with party members and aspirants who may have felt shortchanged as a result of the conduct of the state and National Assembly primary elections across the state.

The Governor said members of the committee were selected after a careful understanding of their pedigrees, profiles and leadership positions in the society.

According to Bala, the team would form a sub-committee of prominent personalities who are capable of bringing members of other political parties to the PDP.

Governor Bala Mohammed who stated that the committee is to be chaired by Senator Bala Adamu Kariya, listen others to include, Abubakar A.Faggo (Secretary), Alhaji Salisu Garba (Assistant Secretary), Alhaji Abdulkadir Doguwa, Alhaji Umar Barau Ningi, and Alhaji Danladi Mohammed Dan Baba.

He said some of the Committee members are, Hon. Haruna Bappa Disina, Alhaji Abdullahi Yari, Mr. Abdon Gin, Mr. Simon Balewa, Alhaji Sanusi Sarkin Aska, Alhaji Abdullahi T.Musa and Alhaji Yerima Sarkin Misau.

Acoording to him, Alhaji Imamu Itas, Hajiya Amina Karubu, Honourable Tukur Adamu, Hajiya Zainab Rufai, Alhaji Danbaba Riminzaim, Dr. Esther Ahmed, Alhaji Audu Hassan, Alhaji Inuwa Mallamin Kasuwa and Alhaji Sani Cinade are also members of the Committee.

Bala while thanking members of the Committee for accepting the task, informed them that they have been given the mandate to go and resolve all issues arising from the primary elections.

The Governor who said that the Committee has four weeks to complete its job said that the aim is to ensure that no PDP member is left behind in the journey towards 2023 general elections and even beyond.

He said: “We want to go intact as a state and as a government. We want to continue with the good works that we have started, we want to make sure that we put aside all disparaging issues, issues that are based on lies, issues that are based on political gimmicks”.

Earlier speaking, the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Bala Adamu Kariya, thanked the leadership of the party for appointing them to serve in that capacity.

He assured that the Committee under his Chairmanship will work assiduously to ensure that the party stands united as it faces the 2023 general elections.
