By Mohammed Kaka Misau
There are palpable suspense in Zamfara state following the impeachment process initiated against the deputy Governor of the state, Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Muhammad by the state assembly.
The move which has nearly brought activities to a halt for the number two citizen has kept all eyes and ears in suspense waiting to see or hear the final decision of the lawmaking body in Zamfara state.
It can be recall that the Zamfara state house of assembly members had served the deputy Governor, Barr. Mahdi Aliyu Muhammad an impeachment notice over allegations bordering on misconduct.
The deputy governor who is the son of a former minister of Defence, General Aliyu Gusau (rtd), has been at loggerheads with the state governor, Bello Matawalle.
Observers have insinuated that the reason may not be unconnected to his refusal to decamp with the governor to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the platform they walked on to power.
