APC Chieftain Urges Tinubu To -Reappoint Prof Bogoro As TETFund Boss

By Khalid Idris Doya

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and two-time aspirant for Bogoro/Tafawa-Balewa/Dass federal constituency, Hon. Godfrey Manasseh has urged President Bola Tinubu to re-appoint Professor Elias Bogoro as executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

Godfrey, while speaking with journalists yesterday in Bauchi, said Bogoro’s vast experience as an educationist will add significant value to the growth and development of the education sector especially in the area of research and development drive.

According to him Bogoro will contribute positively to the development of the educational sector in the country.

He further said in the five years Bogoro served as executive secretary of TETFund he emphasized the importance of research and development which hitherto was missing in the development of tertiary education.

Godfrey Manasseh added that, “TETfund under the leadership of Suleiman Bogoro contributed to the growth and development of tertiary education through the emphasis laid on research and development, and can be done again if Bogoro is given another opportunity to serve.

“Since President Bola Tinubu is still shopping, I have the locus standi as a member of the PCC, ICC, Tinubu/Shettima campaign council and stakeholder of the APC in my Constituency, to point to one or two persons for inclusion.”

He said that Nigeria is gradually getting better and stronger as a nation under Tinubu led-administration

“I want to appreciate what President Bola Tinubu is doing, everyone believes that he has hit the ground running. As someone who believes so much in President Bola Tinubu and his capacity, I know that he is still shopping for people to work with.

“He has demonstrated to Nigerians that he wants to work with honest people. He is being pragmatic. Governance is not about political parties alone, the President is all about meritocracy, if you merit something, he gives it to you,” he added.

Godfrey Manasseh also made a recommendation to Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, to employ the services of Tony Okocha, former Chief of Staff to former Governor Rotimi Amechi, noting that Okocha is a man of capacity.

He said Okocha supported Wike for his new role as Minister of FCT despite party differences, while adding that Wike should emulate President Tinubu by reaching out to people from other political parties for the purpose of forging ahead as a united country.
