A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state, Hon Zakariyya Sale Maigero has appealed to top political office holders from the state under the party to work towards redeeming its lost glory.
The Chieftain of the APC who hails from Azare, Katagum Local government area of the state, noted that APC remained the party that has the interest of the common man at heart, hence, all its members occupying top positions must work to buttress the claim.
According to him, it was high time the bigwigs of the party holding high positions at various levels to look back and work for the party and Nigerians.
He added that APC as a party has the massive support of Bauchi people despite losing the seat of Governor in the 2019 general elections.
“We live with the masses and person like me who knows the party through ribs and womb can tell the world that our party strike through people’s mind” Maigero said.
The APC stalwart, a one time Bauchi state House of Assembly aspirant for Azare/Madangala, Katagum Local Government as well as APC chairmanship aspirant in 2014, said the claim that APC remained the best political party can never be disputed.
Speaking on the recent dissolution of the party organs by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC Maigero told Baushe Daily Times that he was in support of the action.
He said that dissolution was necessary which could have been done earlier, hoping that it will bring positive changes to the party.
Maigero however, described the internal issues in the party as the only problems disturbing the party, expressing optimisms that the party will surmount the challenges once the forthcoming party election is conducted.
According to him, the internal squabbles of the APC would be let to rest and the party regain its lost glory if the elections are conducted free and fair, and justice is done to all.
He called on the party faithfuls who have remained loyal party members even after losing the governorship position in the state to remain resolute, expressing hope that the party will bounce back.
Hon Maigero expressed his readiness to contest for the APC zonal chairmanship position in the forthcoming party election, appealing to members to remain firm and consolidated.
The party Chieftain while commenting on incidences of decamping from one political party to the other by some politicians, said such attitude is like a poison which kills one’s political career.
He therefore, called on all loyalists of the party to keep their faith in it, as they are working on modalities to bring to fore, genuine candidates that will work in synergy with party chieftains and manifestos to ensure that the party remain at her best.
