Bauchi 2 Ministries Partner To Tackle Illegal Mining

Bauchi State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs said it is working with that of the Ministry of Nature Resources to address Illegal mining sites operating in the state.
The Commissioner of the Ministry, Abubakar Abdulkadir Bununu announced this at the ongoing ministerial press briefing held at auditorium complex Abubakar Umar Secretariat Bauchi. He said through the working synergy with the Ministry of Natural Resources, closed Illegal mining sites in the state to ensure sanity.
Abubakar Bununu also told the Press gathering that the Ministry is doing well to tackle Sara Suka, phone snatching and other crimes to make the state free from criminal activities.
He said the Ministry is meant to promote proactive leadership that would help to curtail insecurity to the barest minimum in the state through intensive collaboration with security agencies to fight insecurity such as banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, Sara- suka and illicit drug dealings etc.
He also used the medium to called on the general public to share their security complaints to the Ministry to end security challenges.
According to him, the ministry has been up and doing to enhance security and safety of the people of Bauchi State, reduce incidences of violence, crime and insecurity across the state as well as improve coordination and collaboration among security agencies and stakeholders.
“Is part of our duty to develop and implement comprehensive security policies and strategies for the state, strengthen intelligence gathering, analysis and sharing among security agencies, enhance the capacity and capabilities of state-level security agencies and institutions and promote social cohesion and conflict resolution mechanisms.”
The commissioner assured that his ministry will promote community policing and intelligence-led security approaches.
“Our ministry serve as a bridge between Bauchi State and the Federal Security Agencies to deeply push against insecurity in all its ramifications and collaboration with security agencies to generate useful reports and statistics for application to address security challenges.”
“The Ministry promotes settlements of incidences of border clashes, farmland disputes and encroachment on cattle routes across the LGAs to promote amicable resolutions and employ proactive measures to dissuade rising tension etc.”
