Bauchi First Lady Urge Women To Lobby Their Husbands On Women Rights

The Wife of Bauchi state Governor Hajiya Bala Mohammed has urged women to loobied their husbands for the implementation of women constitutional rights.
Mohammed made the call at a rally organized by a coalition of 25 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to commemorate 2022 the international women’s day on Tuesday in Bauchi
She said seeking women ‘s constitutional rights should be too volatile and arrogant, adding that we need to be humble to the men and get what we want.
The Governor’s wife also lamented that women are the cause of their problems by constituting most of their setbacks in the society.”We need to change our attitudes towards each other, let shun , jealousy, hate, betrayal and differences among us.
“I enjoin you to create awareness and sensitize yourself against all those barriers and differences to forge ahead,” Mohammed said.
Ealier, Hajiya Aisha Kilishi, Amira Federation of Women Muslim Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) Bauchi state said the orgsnisef the rally to reitrated their commitment to advocate for gender equslity.
She said women have an important role to play in the development of the country and the nation at large.”Women’s role in socio economic, science , politics, Science and technological advancement of any society would not be overemphasized.
“Women empowerment remains the tools for poverty eradication and human development.
On her part Mrs Comfort Attah, Executive Director Attah Sisters Helping Hands Foundation (ASHHF) appealed to the National Assembly to reconsider the bills that deny women rights.She urged women to remain committed and steadfast in the agenda for the inclusion of women in government.
