Bauchi Leaders Mourns Demise Of Ningi Emir, Yunusa Danyaya

A highly respected First-Class Emir in Bauchi State, the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji (Dr.) Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya, has passed away.

Danyaya, who spent more than 46 years on the throne, died on Sunday morning at the age of 88 years.

In a condolences message, via a statement signed by his media aide, Mukhtar Mohammed Gidado, the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed described the late Emir as a man of peace, wisdom, and immense dedication to the welfare of his people.

The governor added that, “His legacy as a guardian of tradition, culture, and Islamic values will continue to inspire future generations.”

“In this moment of grief, the Bauchi state Government, led by His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed, extends its deepest condolences to the immediate family of the late Emir, the Ningi Emirate Council, and the entire people of Bauchi State.

“We mourn with you in this great loss and pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed soul eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah also grant his family, the people of Ningi, and all those affected by this loss the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

“His Royal Highness will be remembered as a father to all, a pillar of strength, and a beacon of light in our state. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen.”

Also the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Yakubu Suleiman has described death as an inescapable journey which every respiratory being must enroll into one day in a lifetime.

The Speaker who also holds the traditional title of Dangaladiman Ningi was mourning the death of the emir of Ningi, Late Muhammad Yunusa Danyaya, saying it is is a sad news that breaks the hearts of many human beings.

He said, “The demise of a mediator, leader, counselor and philanthropist who for years has been bearing the burdens of all irrespective of divergences, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ningi Alh. Dr. Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya CON deeply touched all and sundry”.

Dangaladiman Ningi also described the death of the Ningi Emir as a loss not only to Ningi or Bauchi State alone but to Nigeria as a whole, and sympathized with the State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Emir of Bauchi Alh. Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu and the good people of Ningi and Bauchi state over the irreplaceable loss.

“Bauchi State and Nigeria as a nation has lost an industrious father to orphans and vulnerable children, a strong guide who often puts the derailed ones back on track as well as an honest leader that endures excruciating pains of thousand miles for the welfare of his people”, the speaker said.

“The Ningi Emir, Alh. Dr. Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, he serves diligently over the years thereby thousands of people take as a role model. Indeed a great wall that protects and caters for a high number of people has fallen,”  the Speaker revealed.

“Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman however on behalf of the Honorable Members and staff of the Bauchi State House of Assembly implored on the royal families, friends and the general public especially those residing in Ningi to pray to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the Emir, descend mercies upon his soul and bless the families he left while including all other people that passed away”.

Also in it’s condolence message the management, staff, and students of Sa’adu Zungur University, under the leadership of Professor Fatimah Tahir, said that they were deeply saddened by the passing of the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Dr. Yunusa Danyaya.

“The university community mourns the loss of a revered traditional ruler, who was a symbol of wisdom, leadership, and cultural heritage. His demise is a great loss not only to the Ningi Emirate but also to the academic community”, the varsity stated.

The University Vice Chancellor, Professor Fatimah Tahir in a condolences message signed by Auwal Hassan expressed her condolences, saying, “We are deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of Emir Yunusa Danyaya, describing him as a great leader and a champion of education. 

Similarly, condoling the death of the Ningi emir, the Bauchi State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board recalled that the late Royal Father Alh. Dr. Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya was a 16th revered monarch of Ningi who reigned 46 years, died in the early hours of today Sunday 25th August, 2024 after a brief illness.

The Board Executive Secretary, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris in a condolence message described the deceased as a great leader and a man of wisdom whose unwavering support and contribution to the development of Traditional institution, and progress of Bauchi state has left indelible mark which replacement is something luckily.

The staff and management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi (ATBUTH) also extended its heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the people of Ningi emirate, Bauchi state government, and the entire citizens of Bauchi state.

The Chief Medical Director (CMD), Professor Yusuf Bara Jibrin said, “As we mourn the passing of this great leader, we also celebrate his enduring legacy. We pray to Almighty Allah to grant the late Emir eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and to provide comfort to all those who are affected by this profound loss”.
