Checks reveal viral video of man allegedly buying votes not Bauchi Commissioner
Samuel Luka, Bauchi
It has emerged that the man allegedly seen in a viral video buying votes is not the Bauchi State Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Alhaji Adamu Manu Soro.
In an interview of disclaimer with journalists in the state yesterday, the Commissioner refuted being the one in a viral video Twitter clip depicting a man alleged to have been involved in vote-buying for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Our Corresspondent reports that the video went viral prior to Saturday March 18 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections across Nigeria.
Soro while refuting the video expressed worry on how he was erroneously captioned as the person in the widely circulated Twitter clip.
The Commissioner therefore, threatened legal action against the medium that published the audio that implicated him in the video.
The video clip which went into circulation since Friday, erroneously captured Commissioner Soro as the one buying votes for the PDP from the electorate ahead of the Saturday’s polls.
The clip was globally being watched on the twitter clip pages.
“My name is Honorable Adamu Manu Soro, the Commissioner for Youths and sports development in Bauchi state,” he said.
“This Twitter video clips going round globally, whoever knows Bauchi state, knows that Governor Bala Mohammed has performed creditably well in the past three and a half years in the execution of capital projects, hence it is naive for someone to allege vote buying for the ruling PDP in the state”, he said.
“I’m not the one in the said video clip going round globally. So, anyone or medium of communication published a story from the video clip does so to defame my image and reputation in the good looking eyes of the public”, Soro submitted.
“By God’s grace I’ll take a legal action against that”, he further declared.
