Choice of Hon. Auwal as running mate a well thought decision, Dambam PDP chairman, LG Coordinator says

The Choice of Honourable Auwal Jatau as the running mate to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state ahead 2023 general elections has been described as a well thought decision.
The Dambam local government chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Shehu Yunusa Mai block and the local government campaign coordinator for the Governor, Yusuf Isa Usama made this known in a separate interview with our Corresspondent during the weekend.
The LG party Chairman who described the selection of Hon. Auwal Jatau as the running mate to Governor Bala Mohammed as a well thought decision, pointed out that it will add a lot of value to the re-election bid of the Governor and the progress of the state.
Alhaji Shehu maintained that Auwal Jatau is well known person with proven integrity and as such, he is a well deserved person to occupy the number two political seat in the state.
While commending the Governor for executing numerous projects across the state, the duo pledged to mobilize the electorates for the Governor ahead of the 2023 general elections.
According to the LG party Chairman, “one can only mention few out of the countless projects executed in Dambam by this present administration”.
He said in the area of education, there is no village that a school has been built or renovated, adding that the health sector has not been left behind, as many primary health facilities have been renovated and new ones established.
Alhaji Shehu said that the Dambam general hospital has been renovated and equipped with the necessary working tools to enable it function effectively.
“We remained grateful to His Excellency and the contractor for doing a good job in the hospital,the work on the hospital was perfectly done with everything been put in place”, he added.
While praying for God to continue to increase the Governor in good health and more wisdom, the LG party Chairman further appreciated him for changing the face of Dagauda hospital including numerous maternity hospitals in many wards of the local government.
He said that the governor has provided potable water by drilling many boreholes across nooks and crannies of Dambam local government in addition to repairs of the existing ones.
Alhaji Shehu who recalled that the governor has empowered many youth and women through the Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP) declared that with such gesture and many others, the people of Dambam are solidly behind the Governor’s re-election ambition in 2023.
While stating that the people of Dambam are well prepared to vote-in Bala Mohammed the second term, Alhaji Shehu called on those that are yet to collect their voters card to do so, expressing optimisms that PDP will sweep the 2023 general elections from top to bottom.
On his part, the campaign coordinator for the governor in the local government, Yusuf Isa Usama said that the people of the area are indebted to the governor because of the laudable projects he has executed in the area.
“On what His Excellency has done in Dambam local government area, one cannot quantify, we just have to mention but few out of the numerous projects he has carried out here, the projects have direct bearing on the people, including a new school he established in Dagauda town in addition to provision of portable drinking water as well as a town hall”, he said.
“The Governor has built a hospital in Dagauda town, well equipped one, such that the people of Dagauda does not need to go to Azare or Bauchi again. All these projects were done in Dagauda town alone”, he added.
According to the campaign coordinator, there is no ward in Dambam local government area that one or more projects have not been sited.
“The governor has renovated a lot of schools in Dambam, the local government Secretariat has also been renovated and refurbished, it is second to none in Bauchi, millions of Naira was spent to make it very conducive, hospital has also been constructed in Dambam, well equipped with working tools and qualified Doctors”, the Coordinator said.
Usama who also commended Governor Bala Mohammed for chosing Auwal Jatau as running mate, said the decision was done in consultation with stakeholders.
“His Excellency doesn’t do things without consultations, it was stakeholders that suggested for Auwal Jatau is competent to be the running mate of the governor in 2023, that’s how politics is, you touch here and there”, he said.
According to him, Bauchi state is made up of Bauchi and Katagum which must have informed the decision of the stakeholders and the Governor to chose Auwal Jatau as the running mate ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Usama who boasted that in 2019, Dambam was the first local government area to transmit its election results in which the governor won, assured that the again win in the area the second time.
He thanked the Governor for appointing an indigene of Dambam, Ahmed Aliyu Jalam who he described as a real politician and man of the people as a commissioner.
The LG Coordinator who called on the entire people of Dambam who have possessed their voters card to ensure that it is well kept, also urged those those that are yet to collect theirs to do so in order to vote for the PDP from presidency down to state houses of assemblies.
