Dismissal Of Forgery Case Against House of Reps Spokesman By Abia Court Excites Arewa Group

A Group known as Arewa Youths for Peace and Security has expressed delight over the dismissal of forgery case instituted against the Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu by an Abia State High Court.

The National Chairman of the group, Alhaji Salihu Magaji who stated this when he addressed a Press Conference in Bauchi on Thursday described the court verdict as a vindication on the part the Lawmaker.

“We are very happy that the Abia State High Court has dismissed a suit filed against the Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu over allegations of forgery”, the group said.

According to them, “we know Kalu is a gentleman and a hard-working law maker, a democract who mean well for the unity of the country”.

Magaji who said that the judgment has vindicated the lawmaker, added that his political opponents were being jittery over the judgement.

The group while describing Reps Kalu as a detribalized gentleman, maintained that he has played his own part and posterity would not fail to place him on the right side of history.

They said that the Lawmaker, a lover of one Nigeria has visited Sokoto, Kano and other northern states where he preached peace and the importance of living together under one nation as a people so as to achieve sustainable peace.

The Chairman of the group recalled that the Lawmaker had contributed immensely towards peace building when attack was recorded three times in Abia state.

“We are thankful to God Almighty and all Nigerians for their unwavering support and solidarity throughout this journey. We thank all. Nigerians”, he said.

Magaji pointed out that, the case which has lingered in the court for over a year, didn’t bother the group much because they were confident that the Spokesperson would win because he has absolute confidence in the ability of the judiciary to sustain justice.

According to the group, “we knew that the Lawmaker was certain that the judiciary would sustain their fairness, and gladly they did not disappoint us”.
