FMC Misau steps up measures to address security challenges

The management of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Misau, Bauchi state has put steps on ground to ensure that security challenges are addressed.
As contained in a press statement made available to newsmen by the management of the federal tertiary health institution on Friday, it noted that the FMC Misau is committed to ensuring a smooth transition from General Hospital Misau.
The press statement further assured of the readiness of the hospital to providing quality healthcare services to the people.
“However, we have received reports that certain hospital materials have gone missing during the upgrade process. Specifically, sealing fans, air conditioning units, sliding windows, and a signboard have been stolen”, the management said.
“We take this incident seriously and are taking immediate action to address the security concerns”, the statement noted.
It stated that a meeting was held with key personnel, including Medical Director, Dr. Rufa’i Abdu Dachi, Head of Administration Malam Sulaiman Abdullahi, and Chief Security Officer of General Hospital Misau Abdulkadir Babaji, as well as other security officials.
“To address the security concerns, measures have been taken, including dissolving all casual security officials and recruiting 20 temporary security officials immediately”, the statement said.
It added that the management of the hospital is working closely with the General Hospital Misau security team and other stakeholders to investigate the incident and prevent future occurrences.
“Although the handing over process is not yet complete, we are taking steps to ensure that all assets are accounted for and secured. We are dedicated to providing the best possible care to our patients and are taking all necessary steps to ensure the security of our facilities and assets”, the statement stressed.
