FMC Misau to establish Federal College of Nursing in 2025

The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Misau has declared its readiness to establish a Federal College of Nursing Science in the first quarter of the year 2025.

The Medical Director of the FMC, Dr. Rufa’i Abdu Dachi who made this known in an interview with our correspondent yesterday, explained that the development is expected to boost the production of skilled nursing professionals in Misau and environs.

According to him, a committee was inaugurated at FMC’s take-off which submitted its report on the infrastructure, equipment and manpower demands for effective commencement of the College of Nursing & temporary locations for both academic activities and student hostels have been identified.

He said that the College of Nursing Science, Misau, will start with ND & HND programs and will later collaborate with the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, to offer Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing programme (BNSc).

The MD pointed out that the partnership is expected to enhance the quality of education and training provided by the nursing school.

Dr. Dachi called on interested candidates who possess five credits in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) to prepare for the admission process.

He added that prospective students are advised to get ready for the opportunity to pursue a career in nursing at the College of Nursing Science, FMC Misau.

Dr Dachi also urged interested candidates for admission at the nursing school should write JAMB to enable them get the requisite qualifications.

He further disclosed that the Institution has perfected plans to enter into memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Federal University of Health Sciences Azare FUHSA to begin Bsc Nursing.
