Food security: Dambam LG commences Grains market renovation

As farmers get set to start harvesting their crops, Dambam local Government Chairman, Hon Yakubu Garba Tela has commence the renovation of grains market in the area to ensure food security.
Hon Tela who stated this while speaking to newsmen at the weekend, noted that the renovation of the market is part of his administration’s responsibility reaching out to the electorate through provision infrastructural facilities.
The Chairman who further explained that the market when renovated, will provide market men and women with the needed conducive atmosphere to operate.
According to the chairman, the market is a source of revenue generation for the local Government.
“We can’t continue to depend on federal allocation only, we must look inward, we have to consider our local revenue, stop any form of leakages arising from activities of some unpatriotic people within the community”, the LG Chairman said.
He also appealed to business people to pay their revenue, assuring them of his administration’s readiness to use the money judiciously.
The LG Chairman who is the traditional title holder of Wakilin Kare Karen Misau further urged the people of Dambam to continue to support the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state for providing dividends of democracy across the state.
He commended the Governor for providing many access roads within and outside the state’s metropolitan city.
The chairman also said his doors are always open for constructive advice aimed at developing Dambam local Government area.
