FTH Gombe forbids Crypto Currency, Mining among staff

The management of Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Gombe has placed a ban on Crypto Currency and Mining activities among the staff within the hospital vicinity while on duty.

The ban was made known by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Yusuf Mohammed Abdullahi while speaking to newsmen yesterday.

Dr. Yusuf Mohammed Abdullahi called on members of the staff to focus on their primary assignment while on duty.

He added that the hospital management will not tolerate any staff found violating the ban while on duty post.

In the light of the ban, some members of the staff expressed appreciation to the management of the hospital, saying that the decision will make the staff to focus on their primary responsibility instead of dividing their attention to crypto currency and mining.

According to them, such situations may likely lead to death of patients due to negligence which is against their ethics and profession.

The CMD also emphasized that there will be a punishment against any staff caught violating the rules of the ban on Mining and cryptocurrency within the premises of the hospital.

Mining and cryptocurrency have gained significant traction in Nigeria over the past few years especially among youth aged between 18-30 years.

Nigeria is one of the leading countries in Africa for mining and cryptocurrency adoption.
